How to Mend the Broken Food Chain

Dr. Howard Fisher

As an Anti-Aging medicine researcher, author and lecturer, I have been driven to investigate what would be considered natural alternatives to aging and disease.  A few years I started to look into this plant that was indigenous to Africa and the southern aspects of Asia which may have been the solution to this mystery and subsequently led to my fifteenth book, Moringa Oleifera: Magic Myth or Miracle has arrived (www.themoringabook.com).  It contains close to one hundred nutrients, if not more, and according to the National Institute of Health, Moringa Oleifera can cause the body to overcome more than three hundred diseases.[1]

My interest in Moringa oleifera stems from the knowledge that poor nutrition has been linked to the major chronic diseases, immune system dysfunction and premature aging that are affecting the global population leading to a decreased quality of life and of course the missing link from indigenous plants to supply the nutrition for not only survival but the success of our species.  When you combine this fact with the knowledge that 85 to 96% of disease is due to environmental factors, the potential exists for a major impact on global health.  The food chain may be the overlooked factor because seventy per cent of the American population is overweight or obese and this has affected the overall health of America.

Moringa delivers nutrition that has systematically been removed from the food chain.  If our diets had been delivering what the body needs, the above mentioned health deficiencies simply could not happen.  This African/Asian tree is capable of delivering what the body needs and these enzymatically active amino acid sequences may simply not exist in the food chain anywhere else, and that is just the tip of the nutritional iceberg when it comes to Moringa oleifera.[2] [3] [4]When we consider the incidence of disease affecting the 308,000,000 people in America (210 million overweight or obese, 50 million with heart disease, 45 million with chronic headaches, 44 million with osteoporosis, 37 million with arthritis, 30 million with sinus problems, 26 million with diabetes (79 million pre-diabetes), 12 million with cancer, 6 million with Alzheimer’s) and we understand the relationship between nutrition and disease it seems obvious but we have to ask how did this come to pass.  Hippocrates will be proven right:  food is indeed our medicine and the answer to disease.  What will happen when you find a broad spectrum, enzymatically alive, bioavailable, phytonutrient source like Moringa…. do you think the breaks in the food chain may explain a few of the empirical findings? If our diets had been delivering what the body needs, this simply could not happen.  According to the evidence presented to the Senate seventy-five years ago, the food chain is obviously deficient in a number of key nutrients critical to our health.  The solution is Moringa oleifera.  This African/Asian tree is capable of delivering what the body needs and these enzymatically active amino acid sequences may simply not exist in the food or beverage chain anywhere else, and that is just the tip of the nutritional iceberg when it comes to Moringa oleifera.[5] [6] [7]

Obviously a short article will not allow me to elaborate, but Moringa oleifera seems to be the perfect supplement for our aging population.  As we age, most of us seem to degenerate in a number of areas, and with that degeneration comes inflammation and pain.  Close to forty million people in the United States alone suffer from arthritis.  Enzymatically active bio-available Moringa oleifera provides thirty-six natural anti-inflammatories.  While on the topic, a great deal of investigation has gone into the aging process and the chronic disease it causes and antioxidants have been a focal point.  Free radical damage caused by electron-seeking, highly reactive, oxidative molecules has been identified as the source of these maladies through mechanisms such as inhibition of telomerase, changes to cellular permeability and DNA damage.  It has been established that Moringa oleifera contains forty-six different anti-oxidants. [8] [9] [10] [11]

The fact that this miracle tree is able to provide all of the twenty amino acids used in the human body.  Protein is needed not only for the structural components such as muscle and tissues, but neurotransmitters, hormones, enzymes and immunoglobulins as well.  We will all benefit from a stronger immune system.  There are various nutrients that can have a beneficial effect on enhancing immune system function and Moringa oleifera certainly qualifies in this category due to the ability to provide several of these phytonutrients.[12] [13] [14]  One of the functions of the immune system is to keep pathogens from growing, proliferating and damaging tissues.  Moringa oleifera has been shown to be anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and antibiotic, which will certainly lighten the load on the immune system. [15] [16] [17] [18] [19]

Our internal and external environments are both quite toxic and physiological function will be improved if our toxicity levels are kept to a minimum.  Moringa oleifera demonstrates the ability to be a potent detoxifying agent. [20] Enzymes are needed for every function in our body and they are composed of protein, minerals and vitamins, all of which may be limited depending on one’s diet.  Moringa oleifera not only provides enough enzymes to digest itself, but provides all the much needed precursors to create digestive enzymes and physiologically active enzymes as well.  These physiological enzymes are needed for each and every function in your body.

Most commonly authors discuss how the leaves of this extraordinary tree contain seven times the vitamin C found in oranges, seventeen times the calcium in milk, ten times the vitamin A in carrots, nine times the protein of yogurt twenty-five times the iron in spinach, three times the vitamin E of almonds, fifteen times the potassium in bananas and two times the protein found in milk, but very few ever discuss the relationship to disease as found in the paper by Jed Fahey or in my book.[21] [22] [23]    The real mystery is how this four thousand year-old panacea plant went missing and disappeared from the nutritional horizon.  Fortunately it has reappeared.

CancerTruth comment: Trust me folks, Moringa is the real deal and has become one of the staples of my daily health regimen. As a matter of fact, it is so nutritionally complete that I have been able to discard several of the supplements that I was previously taking.  I know that times are tough now and people are losing their jobs, their homes, even their family. If you are interested in learning more about how you can get healthy and also earn money promoting some amazing Moringa products, please visit this website. I will personally help you in any way possible.

Seven Things Every Home Pharmacy Should Have

(NaturalNews) The things that every home pharmacy should have have changed over the past couple of decades. Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and even prescription drugs have given way to natural solutions that are effective without side effects.

(1) This one can be purchased at a decent health food store: Cayenne pepper. Master herbalist Dr. John Christopher was shocked to learn that gulping down water mixed with a teaspoonful of cayenne pepper powder helped his ulcers. He went on to discover cayenne pepper could stop bleeding by pouring the powder directly onto a wound. More miraculously, a large 90,000 SHU (Scoville heat units) dose in water could stop a heart attack. Cayenne tinctures are also available. For supporting cardiovascular health, two to three half glasses daily with one teaspoonful of at least 40,000 SHU of organic non-irradiated cayenne powder almost guarantees strong heart health.

(2) Another excellent remedy for external bleeding and healing internal wounds is a TCM formula that’s considered a Chinese treasure – Yunnan Baiyao. The exact formula procedure is secret, though the herbs are listed. This OTC remedy is so powerful that it was used on wounded Asian soldiers during WW II and the Vietnam conflict. It continues to be used during operations to minimize bleeding and help seal wounds. This can be purchased from a TCM clinic’s pharmacy or online.

(3) Another excellent TCM remedy, Chin Wan Hung is the best burn remedy known. It relieves pain very quickly and promotes healing better than any OTC burn remedy. It can be used for sunburn and hemorrhoids also. It is usually available in an acupuncture clinic’s pharmacy. You can also shop online for it. It’s inexpensive, and just a small amount of this salve applied directly to the burn works miracles.

(4) If you can’t get Chin Wan Hung or don’t trust Chinese pharmaceuticals, then you should have aloe vera gel on hand. It’s almost as good as Chin Wan Hung for soothing and healing burns. Try to get the whole leaf or leaves. Break one open, peel back the outer leaf enough to expose the gel, and apply it directly to a burn. You can cover the leave’s open end and refrigerate it for a week. Great for sunburn too. If you purchase a bottled gel off the shelf, make sure it’s pure with minimal preservatives. It’s also useful for hemorrhoid relief. Some consume it for inflamed ulcers with satisfactory results.

(5) Organic activated charcoal powder is a great antidote for poisons or toxicity from excess OTC pharmaceuticals if used quickly enough after mistakenly swallowing a toxic household product or overdosing a pharmaceutical. Most ER facilities have it on hand for those purposes. West Palm Beach doctor Al Sears, MD, recommends daily consumption of the powder in water for 10 days as a general gastrointestinal (GI) detox. For general detox, it’s better to use the powder, which can be ordered online, instead of capsules.

(6) DMSO can be applied topically for bruises, sprains, and similar injuries for quick relief and fast healing. It stands for dimethyl sulfoxide, but is known more as DMSO. Originally a byproduct of the wood pulp industry used as an industrial lubricant, it has been purified to evolve for medicinal purposes. In addition to topical uses, even the Cancertutor recommends DMSO as an agent to facilitate some alternative cancer remedies. In short, it’s good stuff and available without prescription.

(7) Butterbur has been used in Europe for many decades as an anti-allergy medicine and for migraines, headaches and other minor aches and pains. It is available OTC at health food stores and online.

Juice Fast For Health

Juice fasting is an excellent way to detoxify your system. About twice a year, for a period of 10-14 days, I eliminate food and ingest only fresh fruit juice, vegetable juice, and water. Two weeks may seem like a long time to go without food, but its really not. During the first couple of days of a juice fast, your body utilizes the food remaining in your digestive tract from previous meals. Then, for the next couple of days, your body uses stored food reserves from your liver.

I like to dilute the juice about 50/50 with water. If you dont like the taste of diluted juice, then alternate glasses of pure juice with glasses of water. I generally sip on juice all day long. A good rule of thumb is: “When you are hungry, drink juice.  When you are thirsty, drink juice.

I use the Omega masticating juicer, which is a low speed juicer that will juice vegetables and also wheat grass. Omega juicers cost under $300 and might last your lifetime. There are many cheaper juicers and also many dissatisfied folks who thought theyd save a buck and now regret that they bought a bargain juicer.

I like to juice carrots, beets, cucumbers, apples, and celery. I also juice spinach and green leafy vegetables. Freshly made raw apple, grape, pineapple, and melon juices are also delicious. The juice tastes best if you drink it right after preparing it. Immediately. Fresh juice contains a large amount of raw food enzymes and vitamins, many of which are easily lost as the juice sits. So dont let it sit! Drink it fast…and drink as much as you want.

During a juice fast, I also use a product called Aloe Ease, a product developed by Dr. Loren Ritter, who proudly calls himself the Doody Doctor. This product really helps to clean out the colon, assisting your body in getting rid of the sludge that has been rotting inside of you for months or years. Believe it or not, its not uncommon to have more than twenty pounds of undigested food, slime, and putrefied fecal matter trapped in your intestinal tract. Yikes! Can you imagine the amount of toxins all this “dead yuck” is producing just for you? Did you know that colon cancer kills more Americans than breast cancer, prostate cancer, and AIDS? A juice fast gives your body an opportunity to get rid of the toxic sludge which causes cancer. During a juice fast, despite the fact that you dont consume any solid food, you will likely have more bowel movements than before you began the fast, since your body begins to clean house a bit.

After a typical juice fast, I feel more vibrant, more alert, and much more energetic than before. In my opinion, there are few things that can jump start your body like a good juice fast. Just remember the old saying, “One quarter of what you eat keeps you alive; the other three-quarters keeps your doctor alive.”

Virginia Govt Prosecutes Homeowner for Backyard Chickens

(NaturalNews) An ongoing debate over the rights of homeowners to raise and keep their own chickens may soon gain an audience in the Virgina Supreme Court. Attorneys at the Rutherford Institute have filed a Petition for Appeal on behalf of Virginia Beach resident Tracy Gugal-Okroy, who faces criminal charges related to zoning ordinance violations for keeping chickens in her backyard. The organization, a nationally active group which is dedicated to upholding constitutional and property rights, is urging the court to protect local residents against what it referred to in a statement posted online as “onerous regulations that render otherwise law-abiding individuals as criminals simply for attempting to grow or raise their own food in a sustainable manner.”

Gugal-Okroy’s friendly flock has grown to 22 since 2011, when she purchased her first dozen baby chicks from a local farm. Each one is a family pet, she says, and her family has named them all. In addition to the enjoyment of their beloved companionship, Gugal-Okroy’s family has come to reap additional benefits from looking after the chickens — namely, the continual production of fresh, organic eggs, a steady supply of sustainable garden compost and fertilizer the chicken’s manure provides, and even natural pest elimination as the chickens feed on mosquitoes and other bugs. The chickens are quiet and well-protected from predators, keeping either to their coop or fenced-in quarters. And all are there with blessings from Gugal-Okroy’s neighbors, with whom she had consulted beforehand.

But her neighborly courtesy doesn’t mean much to local officials in the City of Virginia Beach. A January 2012 notice from the city inspector alerted Gugal-Okroy that by keeping her chickens on her property, she may be in violation of a local zoning ordinance referring to “agricultural and horticultural uses” within residential districts, and excepting “poultry.” Despite her subsequent appellate fight, which included multiple letters of support from neighbors, the City’s Zoning Board of Appeals maintained that chickens were not allowed in the city. A later subsequent to the circuit court also ended poorly for Gugal-Okroy, when in an October 2012 ruling, the court upheld the zoning board’s decision, finding that Gugal-Okroy had, in fact, violated the zoning ordinance. By that time, Gugal-Okroy had also received a summons charging her with violating the city’s ordinance, which included a possible fine of up to $1,000.

Attorneys at the Rutherford Institute are now hoping they can help to shift momentum in Gugal-Okroy’s favor. In their petition to the Virginia Supreme Court, they challenge the lower court’s interpretation of the ordinance, arguing that restrictions pertaining to keeping fowl or “poultry” within the city do not apply to animals raised as companions and pets. Nonetheless, the case does carry potentially serious implications for individuals who prefer to raise their own wholesome food.

Burdensome rules, regulations and inspection requirements — many of which are indecipherable except to lawyers and bureaucrats — now impede the ability of health-conscious individuals and small farmers to raise and produce their own food free of corporate contaminants,” said John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute. “This case speaks to a growing problem in America today, namely, the over-criminalization and over-regulation of a process that once was at the heart of America’s self-sufficiency – the ability to cultivate one’s own food, locally and sustainably.”

CancerTruth comment: This was definitely a case of “Al-Qaeda chickens.” You never know … maybe the eggs are sophisticated explosives. We need to be very careful with these home grown American terrorists not eating highly processed, MSG-laden, GMO, aspartame filled, junk food and factory eggs!! Growing  your own food and eating eggs from your own chickens is an act of TERRORISM and it should be met with swift punishment by the DHS!! (Of course, I’m being sarcastic.)

Liposomal Vitamin C

By: Vicki Wood

It seems these days that we’ve become accustomed to reading about the latest trendy discovery in natural nutrition. Last month it may have been an article about an exotic fruit that promises to boost energy levels and fight aging. Yesterday, perhaps the daytime talk shows were abuzz with newly uncovered secrets lurking within an ancient Eastern herb. The prospect of something new to us which we fantasize will be a miraculous panacea can be exhilarating. Sometimes we give it a try; sometimes we don’t. Either way the new wears off and the realization comes that even if it’s a welcome nourishing treat to our eagerly awaiting cells, we mustn’t forget about the old tried and true staples that have been understood for years and years.

Recently, some familiar old standbys have re-emerged into the natural health realm and received some long lost attention in the nutritional spectrum. You may remember not too long ago Vitamin D took center stage. Researchers again recognized that the sunshine vitamin is indeed a critical component that may protect us from disease and promote a healthy immune system. They improved it a little, attaching the number 3 to it, moving it ahead of the previously popular Vitamin D2. If you choose the free option you needn’t worry about the number; a sensible amount of time soaking up some sunshine will do all the work for you–just don’t turn it into a barbeque and you should be okay.

Ahhh, just thinking about sunshine brings to mind the latest vitamin making a comeback. Can you imagine the smell of sweet citrus emanating from a Florida orange grove? You guessed it, I’m talking about Vitamin C. It’s doubtful anyone on the planet hasn’t known that Vitamin C is an important vitamin; it’s just good for us, right? But why? The C vitamin, commonly referred to as ascorbic acid is a very powerful anti-oxidant and an essential micronutrient. As one of the water soluble vitamins, it is vital in a number of bodily functions such as the synthesis of collagen, carnitine and norepinephrine. It’s antioxidant properties protect us from DNA damaging free radicals that are an offset of our metabolism as it burns food for fuel and can also be generated by exposure to toxins such as common pollutants or cigarette smoke.

Unlike many mammal species, human beings are unable to manufacture our own Vitamin C. Scientists have detected the correlating gene present within humans but for unknown reasons it is no longer functional. This means we must consistently replenish C vitamins through our diet by way of C rich fruits and vegetables or supplements. A deficiency of the C vitamin can lead to a condition known as scurvy. Symptoms include bruising and bleeding easily, hair or tooth loss, joint swelling and pain. The US recommended daily allowance is between 75-90 mgs. per day for adult women and men respectively, however this number is merely based on the amount widely recognized to avoid deficiency rather than factors such as avoiding chronic disease and maintaining optimal health. Go figure. There are many variables that would require an adjustment of an individual’s nutritional needs, but most naturopaths agree that Vitamin C is beneficial in larger doses.

Acclaimed Nobel Laureate Dr. Linus Pauling did considerable groundbreaking work on the healing properties of Vitamin C with favorable results related to a simple cold or as serious as cancer and cardiovascular disease. For example, Pauling’s studies involved giving cancer patients very large doses of Vitamin C intravenously for ten days and found an improvement in outcomes. However, the Mayo Clinic’s clinical trials did not seem to reflect this when performed against a placebo. The clinic had administered the C orally, where Pauling had delivered it intravenously. This greatly impacts the bioavailability to the body’s cells as oral Vitamin C in some estimates is only about 20% or less absorbed. Here’s where there is now some exciting news about Vitamin C supplements. Whether you are looking to achieve optimal health and disease prevention or you are already afflicted with a serious disease such as cancer, there is a new way to get potent quantities of it into your system without the hassle and expense of intravenous delivery. Of course, it is prudent to always discuss plans with your physician regarding decisions affecting your health particularly if you are suffering from a chronic health condition or disease.

A new technology has arisen called liposomal Vitamin C encapsulation that allows for oral doses which maintain a bioavailability of nearly 90%! How about that for a nice Hawaiian Punch? But wait, there’s more. Ordinary oral Vitamin C because of it’s formulation can really create some gastrointestinal discomforts as that 80% left behind is hanging around in your stomach–not good. The beauty of liposomal technology is that the phospholipid structure of our cell membrane can merge with the artificially created phospholipid encapsulation of the Vitamin C. The ascorbic acid is encased in a lecithin emulsifier thus allowing the two to absorb into one another. You have maximum cell nourishment without a lot of excess for your stomach and intestines to contend with. There are several companies that are utilizing the new technology, however there are some concerns associated with the sourcing of ingredients that you should look for. Many commercial manufacturers are using soy lecithin as the emulsifier, so you run into the health issues associated with soy such as estrogen mimicking chemicals and other undesirables. The Big Kahuna you want to avoid is genetically modified soy and corn (used for the ascorbic acid and possibly other fillers). Never fear, Dr. Mercola is here! These issues are satisfactorily dealt with as Dr. M. thoroughly investigated his source before attaching his name to his product. He assures us he is using sunflower lecithin and non-gmo ingredients. He made a personal visit to the factory and looked into the methodology used in forming the capsule encasement. For a thorough run-down (much better than mine) and purchasing information check out his site at http://products.mercola.com/vitamin-c/.

Don’t stop reading yet, because there is actually another alternative for those of you who would like to save a bit of money and make your own liposomal Vitamin C. I have not tried this yet, but there are Youtube videos and websites who walk you through the process. You will need to invest in a special machine called an ultrasonic cleaner which is used for jewelry cleaning. The prices vary, with some averaging about $45 and up. This machine is the device that mixes the lecithin and Vitamin C together, encapsulating the C into the lecithin. This mixture will be a liquid that you drink rather than an oral capsule. After the initial investment of the machine, you would need only to replenish your supplies of lecithin granules and Vitamin C powder, saving money in the long run. There is a company online who sells sunflower lecithin granules which you can find with a simple search, and of course organic Vitamin C powder is widely available. Here is one Youtube video by Michael Kau’i Ihara explaining the process.

So let’s hear it for an old favorite with an awesome new twist. Vitamin C, you’ve come a long way, baby!

 The Lazy Shotgun

(Author Unknown) Today I opened my front door wide and set my 12 gauge shotgun right in the doorway. I placed 6 cartridges beside it, and noticing that it had no legs, set it on my mom’s old wheelchair to help it get around. I then left it alone and went about my business. While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor boy across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign right in front of our house.

After a couple of hours, I checked on the gun. It was still sitting there in the wheelchair, right where I had left it. It hadn’t rolled itself outside. It certainly hadn’t killed anyone, even with the numerous opportunities it had been presented to do so. In fact, it hadn’t even loaded itself. Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the media hype about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people.

Either the media is wrong, and it’s the misuse of guns by PEOPLE that kills people, or I’m in possession of the laziest shotgun in the world.

All right, well I’m off to check on my spoons. I hear they’re making people fat…

You may have heard the slogan, “Laughter is the best medicine.” I wholeheartedly agree. So, here’s a little humor to make  you smile. ;-)

OK, enough for this time. But stay tuned. My next monthly newsletter will have more great info.

And please remember that CANCER DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A DEATH SENTENCE!

Thanks and God bless.

You know Ty, I think the biggest problem I’ve noticed is the “want” to be ignorant. “I don’t want to know because there is nothing I can do.” This truly appears to be a “mental” cancer if you will. Thanks for all your hard work. More people are getting tuned in everyday! Stand Up 2 Cancer is a great establishment making wonderful strides.
